How Much Does It Cost To Order And Fit A Blind?

Here at Yorkshire Blinds, this is the question we are asked the most.

Our family run business manufactures made to measure blinds and so the cost is somewhat dependent on your requirements. For every window size and shape, there is a blind and window covering that is the perfect partner for it.

However, a key element is to be assured that you are not being charged over the odds and you receive a top-quality product for a reasonable price.
There is a saying that variety is the spice of life.

So the price varies according to window size, type of blind, brand and materials.
Therefore it is difficult to give a definitive cost.

Big choice does not mean bigger prices

Consider the infinite number of window measurements and this will indicate to you that a blind that is made to measure is the best way of obtaining a cost-effective, superior quality blind.

From roller to Venetian, from Perfect fit to vertical, from vision to blackout … there is a blind type to suit your room and property.

So, asking how much does it cost to order a blind is like asking, which came first? The chicken or the egg?

While there is no definitive cost as such, our easy-to-use ordering system gives you a guide price starting from a certain cost and then allows you to select colour, opacity, brand and finish then asks for width, height, installation height, recess depth and slat size if appropriate.

Our website then calculates the cost as you input the information and explains what you need to measure up accurately.

A blind that is perfect for your home

With a wide selection of blind types available to you, there is also a vast array of materials and finishes to consider.

An easier option in terms of pricing is a roller blind.

A roller blind is usually a single piece of fabric that wraps around a casing which fits snugly into the top of your window frame, whether inside or outside your window recess.

This type of blind can be adjusted by a cord or similar at the side.

For that reason, providing correct measurements are given, the ‘drop’ or length of the material forms the window covering will give an accurate price.

For roller blinds, the cost is often worked out in square metres.

The quality of the material will also affect the price, as will the quantity of material.

For Yorkshire Blinds, if you order a roller blind from us, you will receive the prestigious brand Louvolite Perfect Fit blind and prices start at £50.

Of course, there are several other types of blind which make up to over 1,600 choices in total.

Statement blinds

If your room, conservatory, office or workplace needs a window covering that makes a statement, then Yorkshire Blinds is the best place to go.

One of the newest types of blind is the vision blind

This type of blind includes two layers of opaque woven strips usually in the vertical position, each of which moves independently.

The strips slide past each other and are controlled by a single chain offering translucence and dim-out effects as and when needed.

Popular for contemporary homes, these start at £60 upwards and Yorkshire Blinds provide Louvolite Vision Blinds in a whole spectrum of colours, designs and textures.

Another material that can cost a little more if required is blinds designed and created in faux wood.

Cost effective blinds

However, if your budget doesn’t allow for statement blinds, then there are superbly made, quality blinds that are cheaper.

Yorkshire Blinds have a range blinds designed and created in faux wood with prices starting from £39.

All our blinds are lovingly made by our expert team and our customer service is second to none.

What are the other ‘hidden’ costs?

When ordering your blind or blinds, measuring and then fitting the blind yourself costs next to nothing, although it does take a little bit of time.

Yet it is time well spent when you see the end result.

While the cost of a blind is very much dependent on the size of window, type of blind and the materials it is made of, the costs are usually less than you think.

And being able to start and complete the process yourself reduces the overall cost.

An additional cost is the delivery charge.

Again, it does depend on the weight and size of the product however this is calculated at the end.

Do we compare prices?

As a family run business with over 40 years’ experience, we are constantly checking prices both in the high street and with other blind companies.

Our prices are fair and reasonable and also take into account the skill and craftsmanship of our products.
